Stephen Majeski is Professor of Political Science at the University
of Washington and has served as Chair of the department for the
past seven years. He has research interests in international conflict
and cooperation, U.S. foreign policy, computational modeling, and
experimental group decision-making. He has published numerous articles
concerning these areas in such journals as American Journal of Political
Science, Journal of Conflict Resolution, International Studies Quarterly,
International Interactions, British Journal of Political Science,
and Complexity. He is currently finishing a book on US foreign policy
entitled US Foreign Policy in Perspective: Clients, Enemies and
Empire with his co-author David Sylvan. He also engages in experimental
work assessing how groups make choices in situations of conflict
and cooperation and uses agent-based modeling to simulate how agents
interact in complex environments to determine the conditions under
which cooperative and conflictual worlds evolve.
