AMERICAN POLITICS GENERAL FIELD
Minimum preparation requires the successful completion of at least
five courses. Additional courses may be desirable and are up to the
supervising committee to designate. Courses used to satisfy requirements
in other fields may not be used to satisfy American Politics requirements.
Requirements for the Ph.D.
At least five courses are distributed as follows:
A. Pol S 550 American Politics Core Course (5 credits)
B. At least one course from the Institutions list and at least one
course from the Processes and Policies list.
Completion of A & B are minimum requirements before the defense
of the Masters Essay of Distinction.
C. Complete two additional courses from the American Politics Course
lists.
