Race, Ethnicity, and Politics - Specialized Field

Courses used to satisfy requirements in other fields may not be used to satisfy Minority and Race Politics requirements. Completion of at least four seminars as follows:

Requirements for the MA

1. Two seminars must be completed before the defense of the Masters Essay of Distinction.

Requirements for the Ph.D.

2. Two additional seminars.

* Students must complete at least one seminar from the Division A list and at least one seminar from the Division B list.

Students may petition other courses to fulfill the requirements.

Comprehensive Field Exam Structure:

Individualized exam – write to the field coordinator and GPA to schedule. The exam may take place during weeks 1 through 8 of the quarter. 

Oral exams take place during weeks 9 and 10 of the quarter. Reach out to your committee to schedule the exam.
