John M. Shandra is a Professor of Sociology at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. His areas of expertise include environmental sociology, globalization, and statistics. John publishes extensively often with graduate students on the anthropogenic drivers of forest loss in low- and middle-income nations. This research has appeared in journals that include Social Science Research, Sociological Quarterly, Sociological Perspectives, and Rural Sociology.
