Position Title: Data Intern
Location: Seattle office

Come help modernize voting in America. Seattle-based Democracy Live is the leading provider of balloting technologies in the U.S. Join our team as we work to improve the way 200 million voters vote as we head into this critical election. We have immediate openings for data interns to join our national balloting database team. Initial focus will be on creating candidate profiles for every candidate running for office in the 2016 General Election. Interns must have strong computer skills, an independent, strong work ethic and desire to work for a fast paced, growing technology firm.
Schedule:
Hours will be made to accommodate the schedule of students. Students must agree to do a minimum of 10 hours each week. Summer and Fall Quarters.
Duties:
-Research Candidate filings
-Create Candidate profiles using our database tool
-Review and verify candidates and profiles
-Work with other National Balloting Database team members on other research projects as needed
-Attend weekly team meetings
Qualifications:
-Desire to improve the way we vote and get balloting information in the U.S.
-Pursuing degree in political science preferred
-Interest in elections a plus
-Strong writing and grammar skills
-Quick typing skills
-Excellent analysis skills
-Good communication skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently
-Strong attention to detail
-Ability to stick with tasks to completion
- Flexibility to work on other projects and a willingness to help team members
-Aptitude for problem solving
- Working knowledge of MS Office
- Basic knowledge of GIS software not required but a plus
-Must be in a degree that will allow credit for the internship
