POL S CONVOCATION: THURSDAY, JUNE 11TH, 1045AM-1215PM, HUB BALLROOM: The Political Science Department's Convocation celebrates 2014-15 graduates. If you are graduating in spring or summer and have not already applied to graduate, go to https://depts.washington.edu/polsadvc/signup.php to make an appointment. The deadline to apply is Friday, April 17th.
Online sign-up for the Convocation will begin on Wednesday, May 6th, and will remain open until Sunday, May 24th (same dates as registration for Commencement). More details will be sent in early May.
BE THE CONVOCATION STUDENT SPEAKER: Every year the Department chooses one undergraduate to speak at the Convocation. Any Pol S major earning their degree between summer 2014 and summer 2015 may apply. Speech submissions are due by Sunday, May 10th. SHARON S. REDEKER AWARD FOR PUBLIC SERVICE: Have you made a meaningful contribution to your community or to public service? If yes, apply for the Sharon Redeker Award for Public Service! This award recognizes the achievements of graduating Political Science seniors who have performed exceptional service in internships, service learning, volunteer and/or other forms of public service during their time at the University of Washington. It is named for Sharon Redeker who served as the Political Science Department's Academic Services Director for 15 years. Her commitment to citizenship and public service led her to develop the department's internship and service learning programs. Pol S graduates from summer 2014 to summer 2015 are welcome to apply.
