CSE 160, Intro to Data Programming
For non-CSE students with no prior CS experience!
4 credits. Counts as NW and QSR

CSE 160 is an intro programming class that requires no previous computing experience.  Students will learn to program in Python, an easy-to-use programming language that is widely used in the sciences and other data-driven fields.  CSE 160 designed with non-CSE majors in mind. Every programming assignment uses a real dataset from science or engineering (not an artificial puzzle or game).  The class features a final project in which teams of students propose a data analysis problem of their own choosing, design and implement a program, and present the results.  After taking CSE 160, students are ready to do independent data analysis of their own.
