Preparing for Graduate Applications & Scholarships Series

Spring quarter is a great time for you to get a head start on preparing your application materials for graduate school and fantastic opportunities like the Fulbright.  OMSFA is offering its annual workshop series, “Preparing for Graduate School Applications.”  We invite and encourage students working any scholarship or program application to attend.  We break down the application process in the following workshops:

Scholarships 201: Continue the scholarship search! This workshop provides assistance to continuing students looking to fund undergraduate academic years and graduate school.

  • Monday, April 11th at 3:30pm in MGH 171
  • Tuesday, April 19th at 4:30pm in MGH 171

CV Writing: Share your accomplishments, direction and academic engagement in your CV! This workshop will provide you with the tools for developing a CV for a scholarship application, fellowship, research opportunity or graduate application.

  • Wednesday, April 13th at 3:30pm in MGH 258
  • Thursday, April 21st at 4:30pm in MGH 171

Personal Statement Writing: Your personal statement is an important part of your application package. This workshop provides an overview of this type of writing as well as ideas about how to approach the personal statement.

  • Monday, April 18th at 4:30pm in MGH 171
  • Tuesday, April 26th at 4:30pm in MGH 171

Getting Great Letters of Recommendation: Help your letter-writers help you! This workshop will go over identifying and developing strong relationships with faculty, planning for the “ask,” and preparing your recommender for the letter.

  • Wednesday, April 20th at 4:30pm in MGH 258
  • Thursday, April 28th at 4:30pm in MGH 258
