There is rarely space available for non majors in the English department's creative writing courses, but they just now added ENGL 283. Though titled Beginning Verse Writing, Professor Kenney is teaching this as a poetry and prose writing course. See his description below.

Creative Writing from the ground up: this class is designed as a basic introduction to the fundamental ways and means of literary composition. Though the emphasis is on verse (the course number requires that), prose enthusiasts will be perfectly welcome. If you’ve never taken a creative writing class—or may never again—this is meant for you.
