Take Italian 134 in summer 2017! (Or take French 134 in summer! 15 cr of VLPA)
If students completed their Foreign Language requirement in high school these accelerated 134 courses that cover 101,102,103 of a language can serve as 15 cr of VLPA as well as stepping stones to second year language-instruction, pre-requisites to a minor or major in Italian, and a foundation with which to study abroad.
Having some language background also makes students eligible to apply for language scholarships such as the FLAS (Foreign Language & Area Studies Fellowships for $15,000 of UW tuition and housing).
