Sign up now for the Jackson School’s Crisis Negotiation Simulation, a 4-credit course offered during Summer A term (June 19-July 19). This year’s simulation is built around the crisis in Cyprus and involves a mix of nationalist passions, EU territorial issues, and conflict within NATO.
Ambassador John Koenig, former U.S. Ambassador to Cyprus, will serve as a subject matter expert and simulation mentor. Ambassador Thomas Pickering, one of the highest ranking U.S. diplomats alive today, will play the role of UN mediator. Ambassador Pickering served more than four decades as a U.S. diplomat. He last served as under secretary of state for political affairs, the third highest post in the U.S. State Department. Pickering also served as ambassador to the United Nations, the Russian Federation, India, Israel, El Salvador, Nigeria and Jordan, and holds the personal rank of Career Ambassador.
