Announcement from Academic English Program:
These courses are open to *all* international and multilingual students. English 103 can be counted as a "W" course, and English 102 & 104 can be counted as general electives. We are also offering a special section of English 102 in the evening (4:30-6:50pm M/W) with the theme of “Principles of Democracy.” This section would be especially useful for law students or those students interested in American government. English 102: Critical Reading & Writing
- Analyze and respond to academic texts
- Strengthen grammar and academic writing style
- 8:30 – 9:20am M-F or 4:30 – 6:50pm (M/W)*
English 103: Academic Writing from Sources (earn “W” credit)
- Develop reading, writing, and critical thinking strategies
- Create organized and documented papers using academic sources
- 8:30 – 9:20 M-F or 5:30 – 7:50 (M/W)
English 104: Communication Strategies for the American Classroom
- Practice leading and participating in class discussions
- Learn effective notetaking and presentation skills
- 8:30 – 9:20 M-F or 5:30 – 7:50 (M/W)
