The Rise of Populism in Europe
Summer Quarter 2019, A-Term 
  • What is the connection between Brexit and refugees in Greece?
  • Why do we need to talk about populism in Europe?
  • How does populism manifest in ethnic, sexual, religious identities?
  • What are the commonalities across the pond?

Through graphic novels, movies, and readings we will discuss varieties of populism, nationalism, migration, gender, religion and more. 

 
This course fulfills the writing requirement for certain undergraduate majors.
