SUMMER QUARTER - PORTUGUESE!!!

Introductory Portuguese class (PORT 110), will be offered during the Summer of 2019 - Term A - 9:40-11:50am - June 24th to July 24th, 2019 (upon enrollment of 10 students or more).

PORT 110 is the combination of PORT 101 and 102 and it is worth 5 credits in total. Students enrolled in this summer class would continue in PORT 103 during the Winter of 2020. In Portuguese 110, we will be using an e-text (free of costs): Bate-Papo: https://uw.pressbooks.pub/batepapo/

Portuguese is considered a critical language by the U.S. Department of Defense, which gives students the possibility of applying for at least 3 federal grants: Boren, FLAS (Foreign Language and Area Studies), and CLAS (Critical Language and Area Studies). Undergraduate students taking Portuguese may also declare a Minor in Portuguese Language and Luso-Brazilian Studies, which is a combination of language classes and content classes for a total of 25 credits. https://spanport.washington.edu/minor-portuguese-language-and-luso-brazilian-studies
