louder than words

The past few years have offered no shortage of need for authentic dialogue about Seattle’s future and our nation’s future. The pandemic, racism, electoral politics, public safety, misinformation and disinformation swirl together with expanding notions of exploration, compassion, collaboration and community.

The University of Washington’s Othello-UW Commons is proud to continue Louder Than Words, a monthly series where we — UW-connected thinkers, community partners and UW students — explore some of the current forces and trends creating disparities and division, and how to act locally to find common ground, solve problems and build together.  Join us in person at Othello-UW Commons for this Louder Than Words session with Chief Adrian Diaz, on Thursday, January 12, 2023, 6 p.m.-7 p.m. Come for an intimate conversation focused on “Safety, Belonging and Policing: Where do we go from here?”.  Chief Adrian Diaz took the helm of the Seattle Police Department in the wake of massive civil unrest following the deaths of people of color at the hands of police and as COVID swung a wrecking ball through the economy and social safety net.  Join us in a conversation re-thinking safety, community and accountability.

RSVP through this Interest Form.  Seating is limited so reserve your spot now!
