"In 2020, Candidate Biden pledged not to allow drilling on public lands and waters. In 2021, President Biden announced a target of reducing U.S. greenhouse gas emissions by 50-52% by 2030 with 2005 as the baseline. But in 2023, President Biden approved ConocoPhillips’ Willow project for oil drilling on a federally-managed reserve on Alaska’s North Slope."
