Job Description

As the primary campaign staff member, the Campaign Manager works to execute a people-powered, grassroots campaign. The Campaign Manager manages the candidate’s calendar, logistics of day-to-day activities, endorsement processes, volunteer recruitment, social media across multiple platforms, virtual events, and voter contact.

The Campaign Manager will lay the groundwork to build a strong campaign infrastructure the first few months of the campaign. This position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, patience, persistence, enthusiasm, and attention to detail.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage day to day campaign operations and support the candidate in completing campaign tasks.
  • Maintain a campaign schedule for the candidate.
  • Manage endorsement processes, including questionnaires and interviews.
  • Write, design, and post content for social media platforms, website, and email communications.
  • Coordinate and execute frequent virtual campaign events, ranging in type and scope, ie: long form town halls, brief community conversations, short videos from the candidate, etc.
  • Execute a strong organizing and volunteer recruitment strategy to source and activate remote volunteers throughout the campaign.
  • Keep detailed records of volunteers’ information, assignments, and goals.
  • Track and plan voter contact goals with the candidate.
  • Coordinate with campaign and fundraising consultants regularly.
  • Other projects and tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience on political or organizing campaigns is preferred.
  • Previous experience utilizing social media and digital platforms for ongoing outreach - ie: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends, as hours can be irregular.
  • Ability to work independently/virtually and in collaboration with campaign consultants.
  • Multilingual is a plus.
  • A shared vision for Seattle, and a sense of humor to balance the fast pace of this work.
  • Ability to manage up to the candidate and build a positive culture for campaign staff and volunteers.
