The King County League of Women Voters is recruiting volunteers to attend King County Council meetings as League Observers and report back on how the meeting was conducted and what was discussed.
Our Observers:
- Promote government transparency and accountability through regular oversight, making sure officials are following open meeting "sunshine" laws
- Educate the public about what is going on in local government
- Identify issues for League advocacy
Observer Corps has prioritized the following King County Council committee meetings for 2023-2024:
- Committee of the Whole (COW)
- Budget and Fiscal Management Committee
- Regional Policy Committee
- Transportation, Economy and Environment Committee
