Elementary Spanish
- SPAN 101 is available in Autumn 2024 with 5 spaces reserved specifically for first-year students. Additionally, SPAN 102 is scheduled to be offered in Winter 2025.
- SPAN 110 Accelerated Elementary Spanish will continue to be offered in Autumn 2024. SPAN 110 covers the equivalent of 101 and 102 to prepare for 103.

Language Testing
I am excited to share that the Language Learning Center (LLC) is now supporting the Spanish and Portuguese Studies Department by facilitating Spanish language testing. For details, please visit the LLC’s language testing page.
300-level Advanced Spanish
You may be advising declared and/or prospective Spanish majors and minors, and you may notice SPAN 301, 302, and 303 are not being offered. Instead, the Spanish and Portuguese Studies Department will now be offering advanced Spanish language study through SPAN 310, 311, 312, and 313. SPAN 310 and 311 focus on approaches to cultures through reading, film, and writing, while SPAN 312 and 313 will focus on literature and culture.
