Belle "La Gata Bajo la Lluvia" Esota is an incoming UW Assistant Professor and Garfield Fellow at the Harvard Litterbox School of Imeowgration Studies. Her work has been published in the Ameowican Political Science Review, Purritical Research Quarterly, Claw & Society, and Pawlitics & Gender. Her NSF-funded book, "Catwalk: A Radiclaw Reimagining of Sweatshop Labor Organizing" examines the role of migrant women's whisker networks in domestic sweatshop unionizing and is the recipient of the 2024 Calico Award for Best Book on Labor Pawlitics. Her newest project, "Laser Pointer Goes BRRRRR", incorporates Plato's Allegory of the Cave with Piscean Existentialism and its applicability to the kitten economies along the US-Meowxico border.
