Travis’s research interests include international relations, political psychology, and political economy, and focuses specifically on racial stereotypes/biases and their effects on preference formation and public opinion in the areas of welfare, trade, and immigration. Travis has earned an MA in political science (international relations and methodology) from the University of Washington, an MA (international politics and Europe) at the University of Warwick in Great Britain, and a BA (International Finance and Government) at California State University Monterey Bay. Travis also spent a year studying in Florence, Italy where he studied both the Italian language and Italian/European politics.
