Summer
Overview:
- Average hours per week are 15 – 25 hours with flexibility for actual days worked in our Seattle Office.
- Preferred start date is in mid-late June with a flexible end date. Minimum three months commitment preferred.
- This internship is unpaid, but candidates are encouraged to seek credit with their department.
- Ideal candidate would be currently enrolled in a college or university with strong research, analysis, and communications skills with an eagerness to learn,
Duties and responsibilities
- Conduct research across a broad topical scope generally related to Mexico and the Pacific Northwest
- Assisting in the creation of department reports
- Coordinate with private-sector, public-sector, and non-profit organizations
- Support ongoing projects on Washington-Mexico relations or trade
- Assist in planning, implementing and attending events
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Studying International Affairs, Political Science, Economics or related field
- College Junior or Senior
- Excellent verbal and oral communication skills,
- Strong research and analysis skills
- Detail-oriented, high organized, thorough, and efficient
- Self-starter and solution-oriented
- Experienced with Microsoft Office especially Excel
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of Mexico and/or Latin America
- Event or conference production experience
- Experience in multicultural environments
- Interest in International Relations, Diplomacy
- Spanish language proficiency preferred, but not required
