
Biography
Christianna Parr is an Assistant Professor of Political Science in the School of Social Sciences at Singapore Management University. She received her PhD from the Department of Political Science in 2025 and was the Graduate Chair of the Duck Family Colloquium Series in 2019-2020. She was the Richard B. Wesley Fellow in Environmental Politics and Governance in the Center for Environmental Politics. Christianna was the recipient of the Political Science Department's "Linden Mander Award for Best Graduate Paper in International Relations" (2019) and "Best Teaching Assistant" award (2017-2018).
Her research examines how environmental non-governmental organizations (eNGOs) and the non-profit sector function in restrictive regime environments. Her research lies at the intersection of non-profit/NGO studies and comparative politics.
Christianna is familiar with Bahasa Melayu, having completed her early education in Malaysia. In addition to her PhD, she holds a B.A. and M.A. in Political Science from the University of Washington and previously attended Taylor’s University in Malaysia.
