Biography
My research agenda is informed by over 5-years of experience as a community development specialist working at the grass-roots level to address pressing issues faced by impoverished rural communities in the US and abroad, including the sustainable management of fisheries in the Philippines, clean water solutions in Rwanda, and human trafficking in Colorado. Drawing on insights gained in the field, I apply rigorous social science methods to the problems of democratic representation, political exclusion, and inequality. I prioritize engaged scholarship that can inform public policy to better support equity and inclusion in democratic processes and to identify points of intervention in order to ameliorate systemic inequalities and persistent forms of political exclusion. My research has been published in Law & Social Inquiry, Politics & Gender, Parliamentary Affairs, and more. You can find me on Twitter, LinkedIn, and Research Gate.
