Biography

Stephen Majeski (Ph.D., Indiana University, 1981) is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Political Science. At the end of 2024, he stepped down after fifteen years as Senior Associate Dean for Research and Infrastructure for the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Washington. Prior to that, he served as Department Chair from 2000 to 2009. His research interests are international conflict and cooperation, U.S. foreign policy, computational modeling, and experimental group decision-making. He has published numerous articles concerning these areas in such journals as American Journal of Political Science, Journal of Conflict Resolution, International Studies Quarterly, International Interactions, British Journal of Political Science, Conflict Management and Peace Science and Complexity. He also published a book co-authored with David Sylvan entitled US Foreign Policy in Perspective: Clients, Enemies and Empire.
