Syllabus Description (from Canvas):

Why has the Israeli-Palestinian conflict remained so intractable for over a century, and why does it continue to command such intense global attention? This course explores the conflict’s historical roots, political transformations, and shifting dynamics—tracing how competing national movements, structural inequalities, lived experiences, and international interventions have shaped its trajectory. Through historical documents, scholarly debates, and current events, students will consider why the conflict endures, why it still resonates globally, and what possibilities remain for its resolution. The course emphasizes critical engagement and rigorous analysis, encouraging students to question dominant narratives and assess evidence from competing perspectives.
