For Political Science students receiving B.A., M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from
Summer 2025 through Summer 2026!
We are excited to welcome you to the 2026 Department of Political Science Convocation! This celebration will include departmental undergraduate awards, a speech by a graduating senior, and a speech by our 2026 Distinguished Alumni Awardee. We will be welcoming each of our graduates to the stage by name, and you will receive a letter of congratulations from the Department Chair.
WHEN: Thursday, June 11th, 2026, ceremony is 10:30am - 12noon.
WHERE: Husky Union Building (HUB) Ballroom, located on the second floor of the HUB. See Google Maps for directions. There is a live streaming overflow room across the hall from the Ballroom, HUB Room 250 and it is perfect for those with small children, or just those who prefer to have more space to get up and move around and not be in a crowded room. Enjoy watching the Convocation live from anywhere in the world! We will have a real time live stream available via the following zoom link. The zoom webinar will go live right before the ceremony begins at 10:30am.

ARRIVAL: Doors open at 9:30am. Upon arrival, Graduates will pick up their name cards in the North Prefunction room (just to the left of the main Ballroom entrance) and then continue into the Ballroom to find a seat in the reserved section. All the Graduates will sit together in a reserved seating area. Guests are welcome to enter the Ballroom any time after 9:30am and find an open seat.
GUESTS: Each Graduate will be allowed up to 4 guests as the HUB Ballroom will be at capacity, and we must comply with fire safety codes. We have an overflow room with a large screen live stream of the event, right across the hall in HUB Room 250 for additional guests, or any guests who want a bit more room to move around, say with small children or to avoid the crowded Ballroom.
WHAT TO WEAR: Graduates can wear their cap and gown or business casual attire.
CEREMONY RECORDING: The Convocation ceremony will also be video recorded for viewing at another time or for reliving the memories! The recording will be posted to this webpage the week after the ceremony.
PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY: We will have a professional photographer, Tara Brown, capturing photos throughout the event including every graduate receiving their diploma.
