Description: This webinar confronts the question whether the globally affluent have a moral obligation, either individually or collectively, to reduce their flying in view of the large carbon emissions associated with individual plane trips.  We also raise the question whether academic associations, universities, and departments ought morally to reduce the combined professional air travel currently entailed by their activities.  The panelists will present diverse and sometimes conflicting perspectives on these questions, and will raise related issues of accessibility, expense, and professional advancement.
