An event for undergrads and graduate students from ALL majors.

Dr. Mark Wen has 30 years of executive level international business development and hands on management experience with a focus on international medical service.  Currently, Mark is an executive at Seattle Children’s Hospital in charge of International Medical Service.  Mark has a BS of Electrical Engineering from China and MBA from Gonzaga University and Doctor Degree from CPU of California.  He is often guest teaching at Seattle U’s MBA program on global marketing and “doing business with China”.  Mark is very active in the Seattle area international business and trade with China and is the current president of Washington State China Chamber of Commerce.   He is a seasoned entrepreneur in start-up business venture and investment management. He built a medical supply sourcing company from nothing to a company with over 1000 employees with over $50 million in annual revenue.

Jun Ong’s first trip abroad was at 19, making the 24-hour flight from her native home Malaysia to Seattle for her freshman year at the UW. She went on to earn her BA in Economics at UW, lead the Seattle chapter of the student non-profit AIESEC, and traveled to, and worked in, 9 countries throughout her time in college. Upon graduation she networked her way into a position at Porch.com and became the first employee the company successfully petitioned for an H1B.  Today, Jun can be found writing code at Porch.com, rock-climbing at the Seattle Bouldering Project, and mentoring students on college and career decisions.

Helena Cantrall is a highly respected marketing professional whose skills as a Master of Ceremonies have been praised by many leaders from both academic and corporate environments. Helena holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Macquarie University, and is currently completing her Master’s Degree in Communication from the University of Sydney. She is a seasoned and entertaining speaker, having represented organizations in Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, Berlin, Wisconsin and Vietnam. She is passionate about community work, teaching public speaking to disadvantaged women at Dress for Success Sydney and Know One, Teach One in Vietnam. She regularly volunteers with Vinnies and as a professional communicator is able to relate to audiences of any background.
