Submitted by Caterina Rost on May 2, 2016 - 11:25am

The Pol S/JSIS/LSJ Writing Center is accepting applications from outstanding undergraduate writers majoring in Political Science, the Jackson School, and Law, Societies, and Justice to work as tutors in our joint Writing Center. The Center is used primarily by students who are taking classes or majoring in these fields.

Tutors work one-on-one with students to help them improve their writing, ranging from assignments for courses to applications for majors, fellowships, or graduate school. They also make announcements about the Center to classes and carry out other administrative tasks. Tutors also attend workshops to learn how to teach writing and work at least six hours per week during the academic year. For more information, including the job description, go to the application at https://catalyst.uw.edu/collectit/dropbox/writdir/37648.

Tutors may receive either Political Science 499 credit (2 credits per quarter if they do 6 hours per week of tutoring, graded C/NC), or a wage of at least $13 per hour. Tutors are classified as hourly academic student employees. See the UW/UAW Contract at http://www.washington.edu/admin/hr/laborrel/contracts/uaw/addons/ for more information.
