The FIUTS Study of the U.S. Institute (SUSI) on Civic Engagement brings 20 university students from southern Africa to live and study in Seattle for four weeks. Faculty, staff, and students with interest and experience in this region are invited to join us for an event on Friday, February 3 to meet these students and discuss their work. Roundtable Discussions on Southern Africa

This event brings together participants in the Study of the U.S. Institute (SUSI) on Civic Engagement from Angola, Botswana, Mozambique, South Africa, and Zimbabwe with individuals from the Seattle area who have an interest in southern Africa. Engage in conversations with the SUSI students to learn about their successes, hopes, and challenges as they create initiatives to improve their home communities, and share your own experiences and ideas for resources that might be useful or inspiring to them. Refreshments will be served.
