Congresswoman Jayapal is seeking passionate interns to work as assistants to the Congressional district staff. The interns will gain firsthand experience working with federal agencies, providing constituent services such as doing communications and case work.

Program Outline
Applicants must be undergraduate students who have completed at least one quarter of college. Internships are unpaid but students are eligible to earn academic credit depending on the requirement of the institution. In order for us to best accommodate all applicants, internship sessions are scheduled on an academic quarter basis (i.e., an intern could work either fall, winter, spring or summer quarter). However, the internship program is flexible and staffers will work with you to be accommodate your schedule.

- Must be interested in government, the legislative process and civic affairs.
- Perform front desk customer service responsibilities.
- Must possess professional attitude and helpful manner over the telephone.
- Ability to work cooperatively and courteously with others
- Temperament to communicate with a variety of personalities in a pleasant manner.
