Jackson Munro Public Service Fellowship
Made possible through the support of the Henry M. Jackson Foundation, the Jackson Munro Public Service Fellowship encourages a life-long commitment to public service. Jackson Munro Public Service Fellows serve in the summer, building on experiences and partnerships they have forged in the previous academic year. Students who are selected receive an educational stipend of $1800 to engage in a public service project between June 19-August 31, 2017, and are supported throughout the summer through workshops and advising with a graduate student mentor.
NEW: Class of 2016 Impact and Diversity Scholarship
Each year University of Washington seniors collaboratively decide upon a gift that will leave a legacy that honors their graduating class and its values. In 2016, the UW Seattle graduating class created a fund that would provide scholarship support for a student who is making positive changes in the UW community and greater Seattle area in ways that foster diversity and encourage student involvement. This year’s scholarship recipient will be selected based on the strength of a proposed or in progress community engagement effort that celebrates and promotes diversity and encourages student involvement. The selected student will receive an educational stipend of $1800 to support their community engagement during the summer (or a clearly articulated planning process for a fall project) and are supported throughout the summer through workshops and advising with a graduate student mentor. Please note that this opportunity is limited to students at the UW Seattle campus.
Ruby Linsao Early Learning Scholarship Application
The Ruby Linsao Early Learning Scholarship supports University of Washington undergraduate students committed to working with and/or on behalf of young children. Ruby Linsao was an educator and advocate for our country’s youngest and most vulnerable children. Her passion was demonstrated academically and professionally by her work with the Carlson Leadership & Public Service Center, Jumpstart and Head Start through the College of Education at the University of Washington. The 2017/18 Ruby Linsao Scholarship recipient will receive a $4,000 scholarship to be used towards their educational expenses.
We encourage students to visit our Fellowships and Awards web page to view more details on opportunities they may be interested in and email engage@uw.edu if they have any questions.
