Announcement from the U.S.-Mexico Forum for Cooperation, Understanding, and Solidarity (FoCUS):

The U.S.-Mexico Forum for Cooperation, Understanding, and Solidarity (FoCUS) is a program organized jointly by Stanford University and the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM). The program offers an opportunity to students get to get involved in the initiative.

US-Mex FoCUS is dedicated to promoting positive U.S.-Mexico relations by fostering communication and mutual
understanding among future leaders. Our goal is to create a network of students who are already addressing
social, political, economic or technological issues; and bring them together to discuss and create proposals with
the potential to influence bilateral affairs. We are seeking to assemble a diverse group of young leaders from
across the United States and Mexico to connect at our biannual summits in Silicon Valley and Mexico City.

Each year, FoCUS offers 30 outstanding students across many disciplines the opportunity to collaborate in a series of exciting programs in preparation for the summits, where they will have access to mentorship and opportunities to advance their innovative proposals. This a great opportunity to network with high-profile speakers, politicians, business leaders and other students. Previous FoCUS summits have included talks from Mexican government officials, U.S. senators, and CEOs. In addition, students will visit these top-tier universities where much research in these areas is already taking place. Furthermore, FoCUS is committed to extending this opportunity, regardless of applicants’ ability to pay.

You can visit our website for more information about the summit, our organization, and the application. Applications are due May 31st. In addition, feel free to contact us at usmexfocus.stanford@gmail.com for any questions.
