Submitted by Toni Kwong on May 14, 2018 - 2:51pm
The Pol S / JSIS / LSJ Writing Center is now accepting Writing Tutor applicants for the 2018-19 academic year. We invite all advanced undergraduate students majoring in Pol S, JSIS, and/or LSJ to apply for the positions via the following application:

Tutors work one-on-one with students to help them improve their writing, make announcements about the Center to classes, and carry out other administrative tasks. Tutors are required to attend workshops to learn how to teach writing, and must be available to work at least six hours per week.

Tutors may receive either Political Science 499 credit (2 credits per quarter if 6 hours per week of tutoring, graded C/NC), or an hourly wage of at least $15.45. Tutors are classified as hourly academic student employees.

In order to be eligible for this position, you must have either Junior or Senior standing, and be majoring in Pol S, JSIS, and/or LSJ. In addition to completing this application, you must also upload the following materials as a single PDF:

> A one-page cover letter explaining why you are a suitable candidate and interested in being a tutor

> A current resume

> A recent writing sample, minimum five pages (preferably a Pol S, JSIS, or LSJ paper with instructor comments)

> An unofficial transcript

Your application materials must be uploaded in the order listed as a single PDF. This application will not allow you to submit more than one document, so please follow these instructions closely.

**Please note that in addition to submitting these materials in the required format, you must provide the names and email addresses for two references. AT LEAST ONE of your references must be affiliated as an instructor or TA with either Pol S, JSIS, or LSJ. Applications that do not adhere to these instructions will not be considered**

Applications are due Friday, May 18th by 5PM. We plan to review applications and begin interviews during the following week.
