ASUW Government Relations Job Opportunities

The Associated Students of the University of Washington is currently hiring for the ASUW Director of Legislative Affairs and Local Legislative Liaison.
 
The OGR Director of Legislative Affairs coordinates ASUW advocacy on the state, local and federal level, including communicating and advocating for the ASUW Legislative Agenda with state legislators and other relevant parties. The Director of Legislative Affairs researches legislative issues of relevance to the students of the University of Washington and communicates the findings to the ASUW Board of Directors, the state legislature and the President of the ASUW. As Director of Legislative Affairs, they will spend Winter Quarter working full-time in Olympia directing ASUW state-level lobbying efforts.
 
The OGR Local Legislative Liaison coordinates ASUW advocacy on the city and county level, including communicating and advocating for the ASUW Local Legislative Agenda with city and county officials, as well as other relevant parties. The Local Legislative Liaison researches legislative issues of relevance to the students of the University of Washington and communicates the findings to the Director of Legislative Affairs and General Manager of the Office of Government Relations. As Local Legislative Liaison they will be assigned by the Director of Legislative Affairs and General Manager to meet frequently with community stakeholders and local officials and serve on relevant committees.
