[Pre-law] Autumn 2018 Announcements!

Submitted by Stephen Dunne on October 10, 2018 - 3:33pm
  • We have a new pre-law website! Please check it out and we hope you find it helpful as you are considering, applying, and/or learning more about law school.
  • ·         To make a 30 minute appointment with a pre-law career coach, please use our new platform Handshake. We have retired Husky Jobs and have transitioned to use Handshake for students and employers. We highly recommend students set up their Handshake account/profile ASAP as we have many job and internship opportunities posted as well as notifications on our workshops.
  • ·         In addition to seeing all UW undergraduates who are interested in law, we are now able to now see alumni as well. Alumni who have graduated (doesn’t matter how long ago), can make an appointment with a pre-law career coach. If you are an alumni who has graduated past two years, you will have to call our front desk and they will manually create an appointment for you.

Here are some general announcements that may interest pre-law students and alumni:

  • We will be hosting two workshops this quarter: Applying to Law School 101 this Friday (10/05) from 12:30-1:00PM at MGH 134 and Personal Statement & Resume for Law School Application 11/02, from 1:30-2PM online. For more information, please visit our calendar. Attached is also a flyer.
  • ·We now have a new pre-law guide that can help students and alumni who are interested in law school start preparing. (Also attached).
  • Starting this year, the UW Pre-Law Society and UW Pre-Law Fraternity (Phi Alpha Delta, PAD) merged and is now one entity of UW Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity. Any interested students are encouraged to join and become a member to access their meetings, events, resources, and community! To see what events they are hosting, please check out their Facebook page. An event that PAD and the C&IC are co-hosting together is a Welcome Mixer that is happening this Friday, Oct 5th from 6:30-8:30PM at the Career and Internship Center.
  • For those who have taken the Sept LSAT and want to improve their score or for those who want to start prepping for the LSAT, Campus Prep is offering a LSAT course here at UW that beings on Oct 9th and is from 6-9PM on Tuesdays. Flyer is attached. For those interested, please contact Matt Cucharo.
