Submitted by Toni Kwong on October 22, 2018 - 11:17am

The Associated Students of the University of Washington (ASUW) Office of Government Relations (OGR) is looking to hire 3 interns for the 2018-2019 school year.

Applications are due this Friday, October 26th 2018.

The Office of Government Relations is the official lobbying arm of the ASUW, responsible for educating students on issues pertaining to higher education, advocating at the city, county and state level for student interests, and mobilizing students to express their concerns in the political realm. This intern opportunity will allow you to play an active role in nonpartisan political representation and civic engagement of the UW community. OGR assists with the development of the state and local legislative agenda; the Annual Legislative Reception; Huskies on the Hill Lobby Day during winter quarter; and voter outreach. Whether you have an extensive background in policy, lobbying, and politics or you want to see what it’s all about, we welcome you to apply.

Each intern will be asked to work around 3-5 hours a week. Hours may increase when we host large events and may decrease following said events. All interns will be asked to meet with OGR staff on a weekly basis. We will be working closely with our interns and volunteers to develop tangible work products as well as provide access to networking, guidance, and skill-building trainings, ensuring that your internship is a worthwhile endeavor.
