UW Study Abroad will be hosting an Identity Abroad discussion on Wednesday, Nov. 28th from 4:30-5:30 in COM 202. Come listen to student panelists discuss their personal experiences navigating their identity against the backdrop of a different culture. Students planning to study abroad or any faculty or staff leading a program abroad for the first time is invited to join this discussion. UW Study Abroad and the Canadian Studies Center will also be hosting an information session about the Corbett Exchange Scholars Program. This program awards up to $10,000 to students who want to study abroad in Canada for a semester or a year. This opportunity is open to students of all undergraduate majors so long as the applicant has an interest in some aspect of US/Canada relations. Students with a specific interest in issues related to Indigenous peoples of the Pacific Northwest region are strongly encouraged to apply. Applicants must also have started and completed high school in the state of Washington. This session will be held in 171 Mary Gates Hall on Monday Dec. 3rd from 4:00-5:00 pm. Please encourage students in your networks to join us. It is a significant source of funding, particularly for students with high financial need so not a bad option to consider.
