The ASUW Office of Gov Relations is bringing students down to Olympia in the second week of Spring quarter, Monday, April 8th, to meet with their state lawmakers and lobby them on bills that would affect the lives of students at UW.
This time around we will be lobbying on specific legislation including HB 1340/SB 5393 (State Need Grant), SB 5395 (Concerning Comprehensive Sexual Health Education), and SB 5774 (Student Loan Debt), among other bills we have our eyes on. We will also be providing lunch and transportation free of cost as well as asking people who signed up to attend a Lobby training session on Friday, April 5th from 5-6pm in Gowen 201. No prior knowledge or experience on lobbying is required.
In addition, we will be hosting a social after lobby training, we're calling our Lobby Day Pre-Funk, in the basement of the art building in Parnassus Cafe from 6-8pm
