Scholarship & Fellowship information sessions next week for students and alumni

Next week is rich and full of scholarship information for students and alumni in all fields and at all levels! Please share the list of information sessions with your students and alumni who may be exploring scholarship options:

Monday, May 18, 4:00pm – Fulbright Research/Study Application Workshop for those considering applying for Fulbright US Student Program funding for research or graduate study opportunities abroad. More about Fulbright.

Tuesday, May 19 –4:00pm, Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowship for New Americans – graduate school funding for immigrants and children of immigrants in the US (eligibility is nuanced, please review requirements). This session will be hosted by Soros program staff, specifically for the UW community, and will include recent Soros Fellow alumni. More about Soros.

5:00pm, Fulbright ETA Application Workshop for those interested in applying for the Fulbright US Student Program’s English Teaching Assistantship positions abroad. More about Fulbright.

Wednesday, May 20 –12:00pm, Scholarships for 2nd & 3rd Year Undergraduate Students. We’ll talk through how to become competitive for scholarships, how you’ll highlight your activities, engagement, work and internships in applications, and highlight several scholarships for sophomores and juniors.

5:00pm, Mitchell Scholarship Program in Ireland – Join special guest Carolina Chavez, Mitchell Scholarship Director, who is hosting this session specifically for the UW community. Learn about the Mitchell Scholarship and the opportunities it provides to pursue graduate studies at universities on the island of Ireland. Whether you might apply this year or in the years to come, join us to learn more. This scholarship is limited to US citizens under the age of 30. More about the Mitchell Scholarship.

Thursday, May 21, 5:30pm – STEM Graduate Fellowships Student Panel. Six current UW graduate fellows will describe their experiences and offer tips on applying for STEM fellowships. Fellowships included for May 21:

Please note that most of the specific scholarships highlighted next week are limited to U.S. citizens and permanent residents. We will also be offering sessions and panels for scholarships and fellowships available to international and undocumented students. Information on those sessions will be forthcoming.
