Looking for a great I&S or DIV class?  This popular course has just been added to the Jackson School’s Autumn Quarter schedule.  Here are some of the questions will be explored in JSIS B 324 Immigration.  (Prior familiarity with immigration is not required.)

What drives people to leave their homes and go to unfamiliar countries where they may be subject to harsh treatment or even detention and expulsion? Why do states welcome certain people at certain times and restrict migration at other times? At what point do ‘foreigners’ cease to be foreign? What do the children of immigrants say about their identities? How have ‘America First’ policies, the Covid-19 pandemic, and the Black Lives Matter protests impacted immigration?
