Helping Early Career Students and Professionals Navigate and Launch a Career in Communications Amidst a Pandemic

Submitted by Colleen Park on October 25, 2020 - 10:18pm

The UW's Communication Leadership graduate program is hosting a career panel to help early career students and professionals find some answers about navigating and launching a career in communications amidst a pandemic, and what a career in communications might look like at this moment.

We will talk to our alumni - all accomplished industry professionals - about pursuing a career during such uncertainty, job hunting in the middle of a pandemic, and learn more about their current roles, career trajectories and industries. We will also discuss the future of communications roles and get some useful tips on how to get ready to apply for these roles.

With panelists from organizations across sectors from tech and telecom to publishing, this unique and responsive career panel is your chance to get insights into establishing and navigating a career in communications, especially in the current environment.

An audience Q&A will follow the session.

This panel is designed for undergraduate students, and anyone who may be interested in launching a career in communications.

Meet our panelists:

Yvonne Xiao - UX Content Designer, Microsoft

Brittany Hoffman - Diversity & Inclusion Strategy Partner, T-Mobile

Sarahy Sigie - Technical Writer & Digital Communications, Senior Manager, Barefoot Books

Juancho Misa - Content Designer, Facebook

October 29th, 5:00-6:30 p.m. PST
