Students will learn the fundamental principles of narrative film grammar and editing, as well as professional cinema production crew positions such as camera operator, assistant camera, sound recordist, script supervisor and basic cinema lighting and grip/rigging techniques.
Students will learn narrative film principles and production methods, then will be assigned to either production or editing sections.
Each week, students will learn new principles and practical applications for cinema production. Being able to work as a unit together is a key element of this class. Professional film units are highly specialized and efficient. We will model this standard as a part of our learning culture. Students will also be assigned the task of editing course content in order to understand and apply the principles of narrative film editing.
