April 9 at 3pm: Info Session for D.C. Virtual and On-Site Internships

Submitted by Colleen Park on April 6, 2021 - 1:53pm
Are you interested in an internship with a D.C. organization while earning UW credit? If yes, register to attend a Zoom information session for The Washington Center Academic Internship Program (TWC) on Friday, April 9th, from 3-4pm, or to view a recording of the session afterwards.

TWC runs both on-site and virtual internship programs that are open to all UW undergraduates (all majors welcome) and provides comprehensive service. Placement organizations include government agencies, corporations, nonprofits, museums, arts organizations, and international organizations. Hundreds of UW students have participated in this program since UW's affiliation in 1977, and many made connections that led to post-degree employment.

At the information sessions a TWC representative will describe the structure of the program and the application process. We'll cover the cost (including using financial aid), registration requirements, and UW credit. There will be time at the end to answer your questions.

Students may choose the virtual program or to go to D.C.  TWC's facilities in D.C. are accessible to students who have disabilities. In addition, their Disability Services Coordinator will assist with accommodation at the internship and programming sites.

These are the upcoming application deadlines (note that some organizations have earlier deadlines):

Autumn 2021 Semester, Aug 25-Dec 4: Regular Deadline: May 5, 2021
Spring 2022 Semester, Jan-May: Deadlines TBA
Summer 2022 Term, Jun-Aug: Deadlines TBA

Whether you want to do an internship this year or in three years, come to an information session to learn more!
