Ellen Gregoire

Ellen Gregoire joined the Political Science staff in October of 2021. Ellen has been working at the University of Washington for over 6 years, most of which she spent across the quad as the Department of Economics’ Outreach & Communications Manager. The Graduate Program Assistant administers our Ph.D. program, from graduate admissions to dissertation defenses. Ellen is delighted to work with students to help them complete their PhDs in an advisory capacity – something she has been wanting to do since she first came to the UW.

Ellen received her MA in Education Policy from Columbia University in 2015, and also holds a BA from Gonzaga University where she studied French and Political Science. She had a brief stint in the political arena, having worked on the 2012 campaign directly after college, and then for the King County Council. She is excited to be working on the academic side of Political Science!

Ellen lives with her husband (a UW Foster alumni) and their dog in the Lake City area of Seattle. She enjoys walking with her dog, cooking and baking, and cheering on her much-beloved Zags in college basketball. She is nearly a Washington native, having moved here as a child from the Bay Area of California, and plans to never leave the beautiful Pacific Northwest!
