Legislative Steering Committee

This committee meets weekly to develop the legislative agenda. This document guides my lobbying efforts in Olympia. If you want me to bring up an issue to our legislators in Olympia, it NEEDS to be in the legislative agenda. If you want to help guide the drafting of this document, you can apply for the student at large positions by following THIS [forms.office.com] link. Applications are due by October 11, 2022.

You can find graphics for this position HERE [uwnetid-my.sharepoint.com]. Please feel free to use these as you see fit. Please note you need to be logged into a UW email to view the graphics.

Huskies Stories

Every year, the ASUW agrees on a legislative agenda which is what our Director of Legislative Affairs lobbies for each winter. This agenda includes issues that many students face such as financial + housing insecurity, lack of mental health support, and delayed healthcare. The Husky Stories campaign is a way to collect students' own experiences with these topics. Some of these stories will be used to create a booklet which would be given to legislators so they can see how issues on our agenda actually impact students' lives.

Read last year's legislative agenda here: http://ogr.asuw.org/legislative-agenda-2021/ [ogr.asuw.org]

Additionally, we have posters we are using to advertise this campaign. We would greatly appreciate you posting them throughout your department. You can find copies of them HERE [uwnetid-my.sharepoint.com]. Please note you need to be logged into a UW email to view these posters. Additionally, we are happy to provide you hard copies of these posters.
