Submitted by Stephen Dunne on
We are currently accepting applications for the 2023 NATO Field School and Simulation Program. This program is run by Simon Fraser University’s Department of Political Science in collaboration with the NATO Defense College in Rome and Canada’s Joint Delegation to NATO. The program will bring graduate and undergraduate students from NATO member-states together in the summer term to gain experience in international relations, security, and diplomacy, while traveling across Europe, including locations in Latvia, Belgium, Italy, and more!

During the 9-week summer program, students will:

  • Interact with professionals across Europe, from junior officials, soldiers, and interns, all the way to senior officials, generals, and ambassadors.
  • Learn through engagement, experience, observation, practice, and professional interaction with senior officials.
  • Gain hands-on experience in political strategy, foreign policy formation, politico-military coordination, multilateral negotiation, strategic communication, cyber and information security, and media relations.
  • Receive specialized negotiation, diplomatic and simulation training from senior NATO officials.
