On behalf of the Associated Students of the University of Washington Office of Government Relations (ASUW OGR) and Graduate / Professional Student Senate (GPSS), I would like to formally invite you to our 15th Annual Legislative Reception. The deadline to RSVP is November 30th.
As you may know, the ASUW puts together a new legislative agenda each year, and we will be releasing our new agenda at this event. This agenda will consist of issues facing students, and attendees will have a unique opportunity to sit down for a catered dinner and engage in a discussion about real issues with their peers, legislators, and University administrators. This event serves as a unique experience for students and faculty to share their stories, and continue to build a relationship between the UW student body and the legislature. Previous guest speakers have included Attorney General Bob Ferguson, Governor Jay Inslee, as well as students and administrative leaders from the University of Washington. This year we're excited to announce Senator Emily Randall as our keynote speaker.
We would appreciate your support in two ways. Firstly, supporting our outreach efforts. This could include sending this information via email to professors and students in your department (email for your constituents is attached below), posting this on your social medias (graphic attached in email), reposting the Legislative Reception posts from our social media (@asuwogr), having OGR do a quick presentation at any meetings you have, and any other ways of outreach you imagine will be effective! We also want to ensure that your community is present at the Legislative Reception. We want legislators to see the human impact of the issues we advocate for and are extending the opportunity for faculty to share their stories!
