Community Mutual Aid Event This FRIDAY

Join us for the Community Mutual Aid Kick-off Event! Hosted this Friday, April 7th from 5:00pm-6:30pm in HUB 214! This month-long drive will serve several Seattle-based grassroots organizations including (1) Wheel women's shelter; (2) Mary's Place Children's Shelter; and (3) UW Pantry. The purpose of this drive is to both connect and serve the UW and University-district community, while increasing involvement within community-based advocacy. Within the event, (1) School of Medicine professor and director of the Doorway Project, Dr. Seema Cilfasefi, will be serving as a keynote speaker to discuss urban poverty, community healing, and advocacy within the Greater Seattle Area. (2) A panel of student leaders from various global/public health RSOs will discuss their organization's initiatives toward advocating for unhoused individuals and how prospective students may get involved. and (3) There will be a card-making activity to be donated to Mary’s Place Children's Shelter.
